hi, i’m from turkey, i’m 25 and i’m a retard. i started coding when i was 17. built an Airbnb copycat in Turkey and failed. lost 6 months and a lot of money. in 2021, i started my career as a frontend developer at Havas CX Istanbul. 2 years there. then: • The Student Promise — 1 year 1 month (dutch company, remote) • Hyper Company — 5 months (us-based, remote from Turkey) • Xenon Smart — 1 year 9 months (Turkey-based, hybrid) but during all these years, i had one goal: leaving Turkey. i spent almost all my savings applying for visas. 2x USA visa rejected (Istanbul + Ankara) - lost $4k Spain visa rejected Malta visa rejected Germany visa rejected Poland visa rejected Lithuania visa rejected then i got banned from all EU countries. the ban ends mid-2027. but i still didn't give up. Latvia approved my visa. i thought i finally made it. i got to the airport. then they stopped me because of the Lithuania ban. 6-7 soldiers took me into a room and questioned and harassed me for 5 hours. i stayed at the airport with rejected 3 month visa (at the picture u can see) most disappointment moment of my life. then they sent me back to Turkey. after all that, i tried one last time. Australia visa and rejected again. and that was it. i was done (lost around $6k and my hope). then, in May, i quit Xenon Smart. and became an indie developer. i left my gf after starting. and 2.5 months ago, i started building my first serious SaaS. i made $120 so far with boldpilot.club. i have no idea where this story is going. but for the first time, i’m not trying to leave. i’m trying to build something.
